Racehorse owner and breeder Valentine Feerick has unveiled a new online auction enterprise based on the eBay format. Named www.re-offer.com, the site offers range of listings of racehorses and breeding stock, as well as syndicate shares and stallion nominations, with the option of registering as “authenticated buyers” and tracking bids. “Increasingly in the current economic climate, it seems to us that it is very important for breeders and owners to liquidate their bloodstock assets at a time that suits them, rather than fit in with the schedule of a sales house,” Feerick explained. “We also felt it would be great if sellers had a chance to re-offer a lot for sale if they had made a slight error with their original reserve price.”
